This is the colour depth options I choose the default option although it is simple it has the best effect for the picture other options distorted the picture and effected the overall picture quality. Although a slight change in colour maybe would have looked better i felt the option i chose offered the best picture quality. It also has a good download speed which is very important on websites as if it takes to long then it will be ineffective on a website. It also has a good colour resolution. It also depends what you are using the photograph for if i where to have used it for a black and white book then there would be no point having fantastic colour resolution and on a website it is important to have both good download speed and good colour resolution.

My client Lewis Armour thought i should incorporate more heads and change the band logo.

This was my first design the suggestions to improve my work was to incorporate different heads to the picture, experiment with different tools, bring in a background and use a band logo that is more adventurous.

This is my final design I have brought in a full black background, I also used different heads, I have also changed my logo from the cherry to a tiger on the right side of the photograph I also used different tools to ruffle the suits.

Lewis thought it was far better and liked my new design far more then the previous designs.

I used the blur tool to smoothen out the edges of the photos to make a better transition I also used the smudge tool for the only reason with the central character as the edges would not smoothen out with the blur tool. I used the magnetic lasso tool as it is far better than the regular lasso tool as with the regular lasso tool it is hard to cut out a perfect image without little bits that stick out so I used the magnetic lasso as it provided a better image. I used an art history brush to riffle the suit of the middle character so his appearance would look better. I used a pen for the tiger’s eyes to bring out an effect and made them red to symbolize rage. I used an eraser to get rid of the white marks that was on the image of the tiger. Lastly I used the gradient tool to incorporate the black background and give a better effect.

These where my options of type of file to choose for example JPEG or PNG and they had different resolution and download speed i felt the top right had the best resolution and download speed.

The Copyright Law

The copyright law is a law that allows exclusive rights to a creator of an idea; most people have the rights for their work for a certain amount of time which can vary. Copyright laws make it easier for authors to make money by selling their works. Because of copyright, a work can only be copied if the owner of the copyright gives permission! Infringing a copyright is a criminal offense.  Different laws apply to different countries, due to this in one country a song, book or document could be under copyright but public domain in another country.

Intellectual property

Intellectual property is to protect designs or ideas for example lyrics or a design, with this you again need the owner’s permission to copy the design. Common types of intellectual property are Copyright and Patent.

  A local band would like a logo designed for their website this needs to be combined with their band photo.

The best choice for this band is if they require themselves to be in the logo then it has to be bitmap graphics due to the fact that vector graphics do not look as real as bitmap, vector graphics looks more cartoon like so therefor would not be a suitable choice. The only problem with Bitmap graphics is if they would like the photograph or logo re-sized the logo will loose quality, so the band would have to compromise with size or if it was cartoon like. A Jpeg would be a suitable choice as it is just a photograph and would be good quality and easily edited. But you could also use a GIF.


 A builder wants some eye catching text for the side of his van to improve business opportunities.

I feel the builder should also use vector graphics as this is a far better as bitmap has pixels and the edges would not be smooth also when you enlarge the picture it would look pixelated therefor vector graphics would look better as the picture even if enlarged would not be distorted, vector graphics allow a vinyl cutter to work better and cut a better picture.

The nursery on your estate would like a flyer designed to promote the facility.

The best choice for a nursery is PDF as if you created your poster in publisher and if you send it to the nursery if they did not have the right publisher update they would not be able to open it you should save the poster as a PDF so it is easily opened whenever or wherever they want as it is accessible on phone mac or PC.

1. Projector - A projector could improve picture quality and show it to a audience, where as if you only had a screen you would not be able to show people your work.

2. Graphics Card -  A graphics card would improve the picture quality and would allow the viewer to see the picture with better quality, this could make the design more intense and improve the quality of little details.

3. Printer - A good quality printer would improve the design of leaflets and other handouts or previews so if you had a top quality printer it could print pictures with more quality to attract clientele.

4.Camera - to take top quality photographs for designs for example taking a photo of a landscape to use in a design, this would also allow you to take photos and therefor are easier to manipulate as you have taken the photographs and everything would be the way you want it unlike Google images.

5. Large Format Printer - 

Large format printer is ideal as it is brilliant for printing off larger designs such as posters or a logo for a company that would have to be large so the customer could see the ideal in full size.

6. vinyl cutter - 

This is a computer controlled blade cutter that cuts intricate art and letter patterns on a large continuous feed vinyl sheet. This would be ideal to cut out large designs and would be a lot faster.  It is very handy to cut out intricate designs.

There are some serious advantages as all the products would significantly improve the way work is done as it would seriously improve efficiency and all the product you have would save you money due to you would not need another company doing it for you for example if you had a large format printer you would not need to pay for large format printing to be done so it would save money in the long term, it would seriously make peoples job easier.
